Nikarit is a social enterprise which was set up to help empower women in the town of Nikki in Benin, West Africa. The company has created a fair trade model in which the cycle starts and finishes in this West African country. The project works with local women and buys shea butter from them at fair trade prices. The product is sold in Spain, as wholesale and in retail and 100% of the profits from sales are reinvested in projects in Nikki which aim to boost the economic and social development of the region.
